Museum Tour

There will be an opportunity to visit the Surgeon’s Hall museum before the Gala Dinner – please purchase a separate ticket for this if you are interested.

The History of Surgery Museum provides an insight into Edinburgh’s unique contribution to modern day surgical practice. It highlights the College’s connection with Joseph Bell, who is widely credited as the inspiration for Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, and in addition traces the history of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh from its inception in 1505 to the present day.
