2021 – Supporting the development of a clinical gait laboratory in the CURE Hospital in Addis Abada, Ethiopia

The aim of this study was to send a gait specialist from Oxford to the CURE hospital in Addis Abada for a 3-month period. The CURE hospital in Addis Ababa (https://cure.org/ethiopia) is an orthopaedic teaching hospital treating children from all over the country. In the past, the team from Oxford have been involved in setting up and developing the clinical gait laboratory. The purpose of this visit was to provide further training in marker placement, clinical examination, data collection, report generation and quality assurance, thus helping to ensure the longevity of the clinical gait laboratory, an important resource for the children attending the CURE hospital).
